Melior attends quarterly N-TEC Meeting
Dallas, Texas, November 10, 2005 --- Melior attends the quarterly meeting of the North Texas Electronic Crimes Task Force (N-TEC) held at Southern Methodist University (SMU), coordinated by the US Secret Service (USSS), part of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Melior, Inc. is a regular attendee and supporter of the Electronic Crimes Task Force Forum in North Texas, and previously provided information to Operation Websnare.
"We strongly believe in the open and diligent exchange of information between government agencies and private sector businesses, as either victims of electronic crimes or as providers of investigative or defense tools, to better prosecute 'white collar' crimes, copyright infringement, crimes against children, and other crimes committed through the use of technology and the Internet," says Mr. Thomas J. Ackermann, Melior's CEO.
"Law Enforcement can often only be reactionary to crimes already committed, and faces challenges coordinating intra-state agencies, as well as prosecuting in a multi-national environment such as the Internet," he continues. "We at Melior, Inc. CyberWarfare Defense solutions try to do our part to contribute to this communication process, and help to provide pro-active technical solutions, especially for 'zero-day' attacks with signature-free defense products, capable to defend against intrusions and attacks in real time."
"It is imperative," he goes on, "to participate in the various arenas collaborating in these support efforts, and equally important to provide the necessary tools. For this reason, we support the N-TEC forum, and other entities with similar objectives, such as the Cyber Science Laboratory, the SPOCK Forum, and others."

Melior Inc. CyberWarfare Defense ('melior' is Latin and means 'better') is a privately held US company, developing new network and application security technology with an initial focus to defend against Penetration Testing and distributed Denial-of-Service (dDoS) attacks, and subsequently applying this technology to the defense against Spam (UCE) and Virii/Trojans/Worms, essentially providing a new security layer: CyberWarfare Defense.
Melior, Inc. contributes actively in anti-Crime and anti-Terrorism efforts with Goverment agencies in the United States, in the European Union, and NATO member countries.
